SUBJECT: A New Era.
Eight months ago, my Father, Eric Alden, died. People spoke of his leadership like that of a deity. Everyone who knew him loved him. From employees to his executive team to the corporation’s shareholders. And whilst I understand the sentiment… He was running the business into the ground.
Alden Industries had been operating at a loss since he became CEO 75 years ago after inheriting the position from his Father before him. Maybe I view it this way because I saw the man, day in and day out, making decisions that may have put smiles on the faces of those around him but were clearly the decisions of an incompetent man.
I love my Father. But as his heir, what I learnt from shadowing him since I was a 12-year-old girl was that I don’t want to be anything like him. This company belongs on the throne of the weapons industry, dwarfing corporations like ATÜM and KYTHERA.
A new era has begun, and I will be at the helm.
Steering us to greatness.
